abstract: Approximately twenty women, between the ages of 18 and 65, with moderate photoaging (dry facial skin and fine lines/wrinkles) were selected to participate in the study. Panelists were instructed to apply youth revealing complex 0.5% idebenone twice a day (bid) to the facial area for six weeks. Electrical conductance readings for skin surface hydration and expert grader assessments for skin roughness/dryness, fine lines/wrinkles, and overall global improvement in photodamaged skin were made at baseline and after 6 weeks use.
results: After 6 weeks of product use, a 23% reduction in skin roughness/dryness was observed, a 27% reduction in fine lines and wrinkles was obtained, a 30% reduction in overall global improvement and up to a 37% increase in skin hydration was observed during the course of testing. conclusion: based on the data obtained from this study, youth revealing complex containing 0.5% idebenone demonstrated superior benefits in the treatment of photodamaged skin (moderately dry facial skin and fine lines/wrinkles) via the changes observed in overall global improvements, fine lines/wrinkles, skin roughness/dryness, and increased skin hydration. |
